There is a growing coalition of educators, artists, and scientists recommending a different approach to science, technology, engineering, and math or the STEM fields. The proposal is to add an “A” for the arts and transform STEM to STEAM. What are your thoughts on the STEM to STEAM debate?

Aristotle, Greek philosopher, once said “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Art is literacy of the heart. I am not familiar with STEM education, but I believe “creativity” is important in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Creativity enables innovation. Bringing arts in STEM education can foster faculty and students’ creativity.
